RAW CASHEW NUT SUPPLY FOR EXPORT IN 2012



We are working with a cooperative society that presence in the south-west and south-south region of Nigeria. They have the capacity to deliver more than 2000MT of good quality Raw Cashew Nuts this new season starting from late January 2012. 
FOB Price: USD600-800/MT 
Delivery Duration: 300-500MT/Month 
Delivery Destination: Lagos Port or Warehouse  
Specifications:
a. Moisture            8 %Max
b. Nut Count         170-190 per kg 
c. Outturn (Kor)    45-50lbs per 80kg  
d. Foreign matter   0.25Max 
e. Defective nuts    10%Max 
Target Buyers: End users of Raw Cashew nuts in India, Vietnam and Singapore.

    We are interested in engaging ourselves with the export market in Nigeria. We have done bits and pieces but now we want to standardize our export operations and cashew will be one of our focal points.     Thanks for your post.
    What we sell is raw cashew nut in shell and its sold per Metric Tonne (MT) and not per kg and a MT is 1000kg. The FOB is $700/MT.

    The full meaning of FOB is Free On Board. Its is the sale price for consignment excluding the freight and marine insurance cost.

    Can you give a lame man breakdown of FOB, is it that as the exporter you are not concerned about whatever it cost the buyer to get the product once u get it to the port..Also do you get to pay any fees to the ports authorities for your goods to be at the ports?.....

    Thanks for your question. FOB is the abbreviation for free on board and it simply means that that the exporters only pays for export clearance and the cost of delivering the goods on board the vessel.

    Dear Mr Ayemibo. I am personaly fascinated with ur interests & focus. I am in2 importation busines generaly bt my experience in dis line has bin discouragin due 2d fact dt i 4c dt importation is kiling d domestic economy & as such always been troubled about being importer so I want 2 go 2 export busines.     You can export the following to India, China & Thailand: Cashew nut, Sesame seeds, cassava chips, Ginger, Gum Arabic, Lead ore, Zinc Ore etc.

    Hello Mr Ayemibo. I really love your blog and follow it. I am a degree holder that has been without a job since I finished school in 2006. I really want to get into the import export trade, and would like to start with Cashew nuts, Sesame seeds and the likes.
